Sebastian wants to make technology work for healthcare providers

Sebastiaan thinks people shouldn't sit behind their screens as much. Especially in hospitals, where carers should be at the bedside. With his background as a physiotherapist and his affinity for ICT, Sebastiaan is perfectly suited as a Visiar HealthCare consultant. 'I am mainly concerned with how to make technology work for the benefit of healthcare providers. Our work is more about people than computers.'

Computers and people

Sebastiaan became a physiotherapist, but did not want to do this for the rest of his life. He also had other interests, so he went to coding school. 'That was the other end of the spectrum and I didn't see myself building a career in this field either. I am handy with computers AND I like working with people. I wanted to do more with that combination. Through my former employer I knew Joeri and came into contact with Arijan. I then quickly saw in Visiar HealthCare the ideal opportunity to make a difference in the professional life of healthcare providers.'

Expert at the table

As a Visiar HealthCare consultant, Sebastiaan helps healthcare institutions to use ICT smarter. For example, he guides hospital professionals in converting (complex) care processes to digital applications, or with new versions of EPD systems. 'What I love about my work is that I deal directly with healthcare providers. I am the expert at the table and am constantly sparring with them about choices in the process. How do you do it now? What do you need? They are nice, relaxed people and I get a lot of energy from that. There is still a lot to gain when it comes to processes, policy and strategy within hospitals. And that's where I see a big role for Visiar HealthCare.'

Taking the extra step

'The atmosphere at Visiar HealthCare is great. Everyone is easy going, very sociable and we are always there for each other. We all take that extra step. For the team, but also for our customers. We want to play a role in the world of ICT and healthcare. And that will definitely happen, especially with this fantastic team and the new colleagues joining it.'
