Matthijs Weier

Matthijs knew one thing for sure: something with healthcare and something with technology

From his passion for human biology, improving people's health became a valuable thought for Matthijs. Becoming a doctor was an obvious choice, but he didn't feel anything for that. He therefore chose studies where the focus was broader. He graduated from VU University Amsterdam in the master's program Management, Policy Analysis and Entrepreneurship in Health and Life Sciences. Within this program, he went through a specialization focused on innovation management within healthcare. "I became familiar with the challenges in healthcare today and how they can be addressed. The enormous potential of technology in this area strongly attracted me. That's how I ended up at Visiar HealthCare."

'This feels right'

"After my job interviews, I walked out the door and thought 'wow, this feels good.' Why? 'I noticed that I was appreciated and there was genuine interest that manifested itself in a conversation that went both ways. This good feeling was even more confirmed when I got to know the team. A great group of young, energetic, smart people who are always there for each other and can have the necessary fun among themselves. With everyone's dedication, we continue to develop as a company and it feels great to be part of that.

Coming home satisfied

When Matthijs went to Canada for six months to graduate, it was the first time he was introduced to innovation management in practice. He was super excited to make what he had learned tangible and applicable so that he could actually contribute. 'Now I do the same at Visiar HealthCare and improve healthcare processes by optimizing the alignment between ICT solutions and its users. "The satisfaction I take home with this every day gives me the energy to get back to work the next day full of enthusiasm."
